«It was a phenomenon of systematic political violence, murder and massacre. The partisan resistance had a fundamental role in freeing us from the squalor of fascism, and this is what we must celebrate on the occasion of the liberation. and from that struggle that our constitution was born, and from that struggle that must be restarted to defend anti-fascism and therefore the republic. The resistance, the constitutional charter, the republic defend themselves by defending the freedoms for which the partisans gave their lives from abuses. Today being anti-fascist means precisely this: understanding and supporting the founding value of our republic and European federalism. it is the root from which the articles of the first part of our constitution arise» they added.
«The sovereignist right in fact tries to confine anti-fascism to an archived phenomenon that cannot be repeated. But anti-fascism today means not being indifferent to the violation of the rights of women and their self-determination, of young people and their right to education, of workers who are too often killed or forced to choose between health and salary. Today more than yesterday, resistance is necessary” they concluded.
