They were the two robbers arrested who in the late evening of March 8th threatened a passenger on the line train with a knife Ventimiglia-Savona and then robbed her of her wallet containing two ATM cards and approximately 1,500 euros in cash. The two, both Italian and already known to the police, were arrested by the soldiers of the Albenga operational section.

Immediately after the incident, the two robbers got off the train and disappeared on foot through the streets of Loano, losing their tracks. The victim, however, managed to provide a detailed description of the two perpetrators of the crime, which was crucial in directing the investigations. The subsequent information acquired and the viewing of the images of dozens of city video surveillance cameras made it possible to exactly reconstruct the dynamics of the events and identify the two alleged perpetrators of the robbery, a 23-year-old boy and a 41-year-old woman, Italians, unemployed and with criminal convictions.

The investigation, coordinated by the Savona Prosecutor’s Office, allowed the identification of the two suspects, who were found to be not only the perpetrators of the train robbery but also the perpetrators of another two different thefts against as many supermarkets in Albenga and another attempted robbery against a clothing store in Ceriale. The man is currently detained in the prison of Imperia and the woman in the prison of Genoa Pontedecimo in execution of a precautionary custody order in prison issued by the investigating judge of the Court of Savona.
