CGIL in the square in Bergamo to collect signatures for the referendum on work
Descriptive text here

BERGAMO – As always happens on April 25th, tomorrow the CGIL of Bergamo will be in the square, this year with one more reason: on the sidelines of the Liberation Day event, the provincial CGIL will launch – as in the rest of the country – the national signature collection for i four referendums on greater labor protections.

The booth where you can sign is set up inside the Booksellers’ Fair, on the Sentierone, a few steps from Piazza Vittorio Veneto, where the event will take place. It will then be possible to participate by signing your name at the CGIL station until the end of the fair, but also in CGIL offices throughout the province and also online at this link (active from tomorrow, with Spid or Cie): https://www.cgil.it/referendum.

At the center of the CGIL referendum initiative are protection against illegitimate dismissals, overcoming precariousness, safety in contract work, themes articulated in four proposals already published in the Official Journal, designed to dismantle some of the laws that have led to an overly precarious world of work. The Corso Italia union is preparing to collect the 500 thousand signatures needed by the summer to then go to the vote next spring.

The primary purpose is to change the rules which have impoverished work and made workers less protected and more vulnerable. The questions are direct: “Do you want the repeal of…?”, with the details of the rules that you want to cancel. Referendums are of the abrogation type, as provided for in the Constitution in article 75, that is, they ask for the elimination of laws or parts of laws.

Question 2 – To increase protection against illegitimate dismissals for workers who work in companies with fewer than fifteen employees

What do we want to delete? The maximum compensation limit in the event of unjustified dismissal in small companies, so that the judge can determine the right compensation without any limit
