What to do in Alexandria
The Cristo neighborhood of Alessandria today comes alive with the Spring Fair. From 8am to 8pm you will find over 120 stalls along Via Carlo Alberto and up to the Lidl in Corso. The shops on the course will be open all day for spring shopping and there will be no shortage of refreshment points. At the Spring Fair in the Cristo district you will also find the “Supercars Gathering” and lots of music and shows, with concerts, DJ sets and performances, starting with that of the Majorettes “Le Azzurre” from Occimiano who will accompany the ribbon cutting at 10am in via Carlo Alberto.
What to do in Casale Monferrato
Special opening this Thursday 25 April for the Monferrato Castle and the Bistolfi Civic Museum and Plaster Cast Gallery of Casale Monferrato. Today the Castle and the collections on display can be visited from 10am to 1pm and from 3pm to 7pm. The Bistolfi Civic Museum and Plaster Cast Gallery will be open from 10.30am to 1pm and from 3pm to 6pm.
What to do in Novi Ligure
As part of the initiatives organized in Novi Ligure to celebrate the 79th anniversary of the Liberation, al Giacometti Theatre it will be on stage at 9pm “Partisans always!”, show produced by the “Memoria della Benedicta” Association and Anpi Cesena. The performance is a succession of stories, quotes, songs that bring to mind the sacrifice of men willing to die for freedom. The author of the text is Massimo Carlotto, the songs and music are composed and performed by Yo Yo Mundi and Maurizio Camardi, the direction is by Velia Mantegazza.
What to do in Ovada
We move to Ovada, where it will be possible to visit a photographic exhibition in the Loggia di San Sebastiano exhibition hall from 10.30 to 12.00 and then from 16.30 to 18.30.
What to do in the rest of the province of Alessandria
ALICE BEL COLLE – Spring walk this April 25th in Alice Bel Colle with refreshment points along the way. To register, just show up at 9.30 in Piazza Guacchione. The participation fee is €18 for adults and €5 for children (under 8 years) and also includes lunch and refreshments along the route of approximately 12 km. LIGURIAN CANTALOUPE – As part of the initiatives to celebrate the Liberation, the “Walk of Freedom” is scheduled for this April 25th in Cantalupo Ligure, with a meeting at 9.30 in Pertuso, a packed lunch at 12.30 and departure for Rocchetta Ligure with guided tour of the Resistance Museum. At 4 pm a laurel wreath will be placed at the Stele dedicated to the Pinan Cichero Division. This will be followed by greetings from the Mayor of Cantalupo Ligure, Pierluigi Debenedetti, and the Mayor of Novi Ligure, Rocchino Muliere.MONFERRATO COUNTRYSIDE – This Thursday we go to discover the spontaneous orchids of Camagna Monferrato. The meeting is at 3pm at Colombina “Mamma Lenti” Cabiati Park, in the cemetery area. We will then walk in the surrounding areas up to the Big Bench. Followed by a sinoira snack.
CASTELLETTO D’ORBA – The first evening of the Lasagne Festival organized by the Pro Loco will be held at the Palazzetto dello Sport, in Castelvero. This evening we will have dinner from 7.30pm and then dance with Emily Band.
MONTALDO BORMIDA – In the upper part of Montaldo Bormida this Thursday there is “Aprile dolce fiorere”. From 10am to 7pm you will find displays of typical products, refreshment points, a corner dedicated to the newlyweds and in the artists’ corner exhibitions of photographs, paintings and sweet creations.
THIRD – In Terzo the Liberation is celebrated with the “Walk of the XXV Aprile” along the Bogliona ring between the places of the Resistance. The meeting point for the walk, which lasts approximately 3 hours, is at 9am in the Terzo municipal arena. At the end of the walk you can take part in a picnic with friends (reservations at no. 339 7435515 – 34017227739). Then, at 4.30 pm, a concert by the Tom Ton band will be held in the Terzo municipal arena, with free admission.
VIGNOLE BORBERA – This April 25th in Vignole Borbera there is the Spring Fair. In the streets of the town
you will find stalls, stands dedicated to crafts and hobbyists, rides and inflatables for children. In the Pianezza Museum you can admire an exhibition of paintings and sculptures by various artists. Food stand in the festival area organized by the Pro Loco of Vignole Borbera.
VAL BORBERA – The section of the Anpi “Pinan” Val Borbera, the Museum of Resistance and Social Life in Val Borbera “GB Lazagna” and Pro Loco Coordination and Val Borbera and Spinti Associations organize a walk on the paths of freedom to remember the partisan struggle. This year the Walk on the Paths of Freedom will be held in Volpara, a small hamlet of Albera Ligure. Around and inside the town, along the circular route, the historians Alessio Parisi and Michele Soffiantini, the witnesses Franco and Morena Daglio and the boys of the ‘Due Torri’ clan, will remember scenarios and events that happened in those places and, with them, the stories of courage, of suffering, of lives lost, of ideals and expectations of freedom. The program includes the meeting at 9am in the Volpara car park square (fraz.Albera Ligure). The departure is set for 9.30am. The route is 8 kilometers long, with a difference in altitude of 360 metres. The travel time is approximately 2 hours including stops to listen to the speakers. Trekking shoes are recommended. There will be a stop for a packed lunch at 12.30pm. At 3pm meeting at the Museum of Resistance and Social Life in Palazzo Spinola in Rocchetta Ligure for the guided tour.
