Brescia, worker dies crushed by a metal plate in a company

Another victim at work in the province of Brescia, the sixth since the beginning of the year. A 46-year-old worker was crushed by a metal plate while operating an overhead crane at Dall’Era Siderurgica, a company in Lograto, a town in the province of Brescia, which distributes metal products.

The accident occurred shortly after 9am this morning and, according to initial information, the man was struck by a heavy steel plate which came loose while it was being moved.

The news reached the confederal unions of Brescia during the commemoration ceremony for the fallen and victims in view of April 25th, a moment of recollection for the workers of Iveco in Brescia, a company which, during the Liberation, played a central role in organizing the partisan leaders against the Nazi-fascist regime.

The worker who died this morning was a member of the Uil in Brescia. The secretary of the union, Mario Bailo, left the ceremony to reach the Lograto company.
