That he was a policeman and that he was a friend is a unanimous opinion among those who knew him and knew him. Luciano was a man from Molfetta whose portrait deserves to be posted in the gallery of illustrious men from Molfetta. In his life he was a carabiniere by vocation, carrying out his work with the utmost seriousness and professionalism until retirement, when he was elected president of the local section of the National Carabinieri Association. His passing in March 2019, now an octogenarian, left a deep void in the hearts of all the people of Molfetta.
Immediately afterwards, a group of personalities close to him wanted to leave a more intimate and indelible memory of their friend Luciano Modugno. From this the volume in the introduction was born, edited by Giuseppe Pansini. The book was ready for March 2020, but the global health situation prevented it from being presented to the public. Five years have now passed, but Luciano’s story and life are still imprinted in the hearts and memories of his friends and acquaintances.
Therefore, the National Association of Carabinieri Section of Molfetta, in collaboration with the Leonardo Azzarita Study Center, invites citizens to the official presentation of the volume “Luciano Modugno – A carabiniere as a friend” on Sunday 28 April 2024, at 7.00 pm in the Beniamino Finocchiaro room . During the evening it will be possible to acquire a copy of the volume for free distribution.
The evening will see the participation of the highest authorities of the Carabinieri, invited for this purpose by the current president of the National Carabinieri Association Vito de Gennaro. The curator of the work, Giuseppe Pansini, will be present and Andrea de Gennaro will coordinate the work.
Thanking the Modugno family for having agreed to remember Luciano Modugno, we invite citizens to participate to remember, all together, our Carabiniere as a friend.
