”In the ‘European’ city that only Salvemini sees, the overall situation of the streets is a total disrepair: public works done very badly, done and redone. At the expense of who if not the citizens? War roads, violated by public bodies who had no respect for decorum, much less for due security; works entrusted and not followed, not controlled in their execution which have reduced the city from the center to the outskirts in an obstacle course dangerous for anyone passing through”. This was stated by Adriana Poli Bortone, mayoral candidate for the centre-right in Lecce.

”The next administration – he continues – will have to call to order all the operators who have destroyed the city, call them to blame, order the restoration of asphalt and paving and strictly regulate all interventions, imposing heavy sanctions up to the exclusion of non-compliant companies from the assignment of further works commissioned by the public administration. There will be no justification for companies receiving contracts and subcontracts. To be European, the city cannot continue to be a Gruyere cheese. And finally, we must ask ourselves: whose responsibility is it? Only companies and above all those who have not been able to monitor despite having the obligation?”, concludes Poli Bortone.
