The ninth edition of the Guide to Italian Beers, published by Slow Food Editore, will have its national presentation in the city of Brescia on 24 and 25 May 2024. This guide represents a point of reference for the Italian artisanal brewing sector, offering an overview of the best national production and awarding prizes and recognitions to the best breweries.

The two-day program will be full of events dedicated to the world of craft beer. It will begin with the presentation of the book at the San Barnaba Auditorium, during which awards will be given to the breweries highlighted with the Chiocciola and those awarded with the Excellence. In the afternoon there will be a technical workshop on the topic of fermentation at MO.CA. In the evening a meeting on beer tourism will be held at the same place.

On the second day, informative meetings will be organized for beginners and the curious, during which the history of beer will be told and its peculiarities explained. Four Taste Workshops will also be offered at the Birralab, La Pulce, Spine and Taverna di Paola venues, where it will be possible to taste some of the best beers and ciders in Italy paired with products from the Padernello Earth Market.

During both days it will be possible to taste the beers of the award-winning breweries at the Birralab, La Pulce, Spine and Taverna di Paola venues. It will be a unique opportunity to taste products with different styles, production areas and characteristics.

The presentation of the Guide to Italian Beers in Brescia represents a privilege and an honor for the city, which boasts a long tradition in beer production. Brescia is in fact the place where Wührer, the oldest Italian brewery, was born. Furthermore, there are numerous excellent breweries in the province.

The councilor for Productive Activities and Tourism Andrea Poli underlined the importance of the event for the valorisation of the agri-food resources of the area. Eugenio Signoroni, editor of the Guide to Italian Beers, highlighted that this presentation represents a unique opportunity to discover the best of Italian Beer according to Slow Food.

The organization of the presentation was possible thanks to the collaboration of the Municipality of Brescia, MO.CA – Center for new cultures, Slow Food Editore and the Slow Food Terreacque Bresciane Convivium.
