| The Dichio Garden Center of Matera, on 27 and 28 April 2024, organizes “L’ ANIMAL DAYS”, an event dedicated to the world of animals, told through science, art, play, with many educational activities, for adults and children. The initiative is sponsored by the City of Matera and the Provincial Order of Surgeons and Dentists of Matera; it will be carried out in collaboration with the social promotion association “L’ultima Luna” of Potenza and the Wine&Fashion Europe association. To support the mission of the Event, on April 27th, the television presenter Stefania Orlando will also join us. The aim of the ANIMAL DAYS event is to stimulate greater awareness and respect for the animal world. A kitten, a dog, but so many other animals, in addition to keeping children, adults and the elderly company, increase considerably the psychophysical well-being of people in difficult situations or physical and mental disability. The scientific seminar on Pet Therapy, as co-therapy in the use of healthcare resources, which will be held on the 27th at 5.00 pm, is very important; High profile speakers will take part: Paola Serio, veterinary doctor, zootherapist who will talk about animal-assisted interventions, Vincenzo Pierro, psychiatrist, doctor who will talk about pet therapy in psychiatric rehabilitation, Lucia Carriero, neuroscientist who will talk about a study on the beneficial effects generated by contact with animals on the human brain and Bruno Laurita, the president of the social promotion “L’ultima Luna” of Potenza who will talk about the experience of life with animals of one of his associates. Another unmissable event is that of the exhibitions of the dogs of the National Carabinieri Association of Basilicata, Tricarico section, for the search for missing people, on the 28th, at 5.00 pm and 6.30 pm. Not to be overlooked is the presence of the adoption points for puppies from the Elle Elle and Argo kennels in Matera who need the love of a family. ANIMAL DAYS CALENDAR SATURDAY 27 APRIL 2024 1. 4.00 pm blessing of the animals; 2. 5.00 pm scientific seminar on pet therapy and on the health effects of animals on the human brain, in the psychiatric and neurological fields; Moderator_ Silvana Laviola They will speak: Dr. Paola Serio, veterinary zootherapist, will talk about the interventions assisted with animals; Dr. Vincenzo Pierro, head of the Psychiatry department of the Policoro Hospital (MT), he will talk about pet therapy in psychiatric rehabilitation; Dr. Lucia Carriero, PhD, Scientific Director Brain Care Tech, Neurosciences, Care and Research by Bernalda (MT); will talk about the effects of animal company on the human brain; Bruno Laurita, president of the social promotion association “L’ultima Luna” of Potenza, will talk about the life experience with animals of one of his associates. 3. 4.00pm – 8.00pm adoption information point of the Matera kennels; 4. 4.00pm – 8.00pm pet insurance information point; 5. 4.00pm – 8.00pm food collection for the animals; 6. 4.30pm – 8.00pm baby dance; 7. 4.30pm – 8.00pm animal-themed children’s make-up 8. 4.30pm – 8.00pm educational workshop on the recognition of animal footprints; 9. 4.30pm – 8.00pm “play with flame”, the child-friendly dog and workshop on the correct approach to animals; 10.
