The Belcanto set arrives in Pavia and Strada Nuova returns to the nineteenth century

In just a few days, the stretch of Strada Nuova overlooked by the Fraschini theater has taken a leap back in time, with the shops disguised as shops from the past. A nineteenth-century scenography for the filming of the film Belcanto, the new series that Rai and Lucky Red wanted to shoot partly in Pavia. A coming and going of vans, carpenters, technicians wrapped in tangles of cables, workers with wheelbarrows of rifles or intent on hanging vintage posters on the theater noticeboard have intrigued passers-by and traders in and around Strada Nuova. Behind the windows taken back in time were the shops, open, with notices on the windows to warn customers. The Antica Cereria Bellotti – which announces, on its sign, that it sells paraffins, soaps and lascivious products blessed by the pontiffs – has even managed to redevelop an empty shop window that had been abandoned for years. And on Wednesday afternoon filming began in costume, with carriages and horses, and many onlookers behind the barriers (including numerous kids who were fans of Sea Outside, by the same director).Video Garbi
