Guarantee of triumphs and success, in Excellence and beyond, Andrea Costantini he has been one of the best performers of our regional football for years. The goalscoring defender seems not to feel the passing of the years and continues to prove decisive in every project he decides to embrace.
He already has more than one hundred goals under his belt and is a symbol of promotion, already achieved with the shirts of Pomezia, Monterosi (also in Serie C) and with the Sora records last year.
This year, with some more difficulties, he is leading the defense of Pomezia by Stefano Giocamazza, currently fourth in the standings but still in full swing in the fight that would lead to Serie D.
We intercepted him on our microphones in another extremely important week of his long and prestigious career.
The 85′ class scored a brace in the last round of the championship in the match won by the Pometini comeback against Civitavecchia. Two goals that allowed the Pomezia to present themselves in the best possible way for the match of the year against the W3 Maccarese.
Andrea, how important was Sunday’s success against Civitavecchia for you?
“Three very important points. We are forced to stick to the top of the class. Obviously we have to hope that someone can make a mistake and be good at always being ready. “
The one against Civitavecchia was a special match. You built many chances without managing to score. Did you have to change into a bomber jacket again in the absence of Corsetti and Teti?
“I often joke with the coach telling him that I feel like an attacker.
Jokes aside, as happens to me when we are down, I went to the opponent’s area in the last minutes to help my teammates. Luckily, it went well and I managed to score two goals.
Anything could have happened in the finale and we even risked losing her.”
Despite his absences, this Pomezia has a lot of heart and manages to overcome difficulties, doesn’t he?
“Yes, those who play from the start and those who come onto the pitch always try to lend a hand. The players have different characteristics from each other and we know we can always do well.
Now we have to think about the next match and work hard for weeks to prepare.”
How important is Sunday’s race for your journey?
“It’s as important for us as it is for them. Both teams are obliged to win and it could be a spectacular match.
The one in front always loses out, so I think the pressure is all on them. We will go there with the only hope of winning.
We are aware that it will be difficult, but we hope it will go well.”
