Viterbo – The training institute hosted field structures of the Italian Red Cross and supported the provincial command of the financial police
Viterbo – We receive and publish – Tuesday 7 May 2024 as part of the defusing operations of an aircraft bomb weighing approximately 2,000 kg dating back to the Second World War, coordinated by the prefecture of Viterbo and carried out by the bomb squad of the 6th Pioneer Engineering Department of the army , the Air Force Marshals School provided support for the evacuation operations of the city’s population.

In particular, at the Viterbo military airport, some field structures of the Italian Red Cross have been set up capable of accommodating eighty beds for people who have had to leave their homes and who do not require specific healthcare/hospital assistance.

Furthermore, the AM marshals school supported the provincial command of the financial police, whose barracks fell within the so-called red zone, hosting personnel and vehicles so as to guarantee their operations even during the evacuation period.

The marshals school of the air force/airport command of Viterbo is placed under the command of the schools of the AM and the 3rd air region of Bari; the department has a dual mission: on the one hand, as a university institute, it has the task of providing military and moral training and specific professional education for non-commissioned officers of the marshals role, as well as perfecting and updating this training; on the other hand, as a military airport open to civilian traffic, it provides technical-operational support, air navigation services and force-protection activity at the Tommaso Fabbri airport.
