Gela, a naked “yes” by the sea. Bulala among the 23 Italian beaches where it could be possible

Of Editorial board

Saying the fateful yes by the sea, celebrating eternal love without the barrier of clothes: naked. At most a light white veil for the bride, tie or bow tie for him. Or the other him/her, in the case of rainbow couples. And then just a bouquet. It is the crusade that the Nudiverso association has been engaged in for years, which wants to break down the last taboo, that of nudity. Gela, in Bulala, is indicated as one of the 23 Italian beaches chosen for nudist weddings. In Sicily only two, San Saba in Messina and Gela. But the process is not simple, the path full of obstacles. Something, however, is moving in these hours. Luigi Tedeschi, mayor of San Vero Milis, in the Oristano area, in Sardinia, has accepted the challenge, among the first in Italy and in recent days he is evaluating the rules and the necessary authorizations to work on a municipal resolution to ensure that the beach naturist of Is Benas becomes a scenario where the civil ceremony can be celebrated in an official form. The inspiration came from the request of a German couple, to be able to get married at the end of summer and without clothes on, on the beautiful and uncontaminated beach.
And how would Gela, authorized years ago as a nudist beach, react to such a request? Would you welcome the requests of thousands of nudists around the globe, in search of warm Mediterranean beaches, or would you keep the fence of moralism high? Would you use the opportunity to «affirm the right to choose, in an open, shared social dimension» to use the words of Pamela Deiana, national president of Nudiverso, or would you stick to the canons of formalism?
We leave these questions to the sensitivity of our readers.
