The mother is also among the five people registered in the register of suspects for the death of the 13-month-old child, attacked by two pit bulls in a house in the Campolongo hamlet, on the outskirts of Eboli, in the province of Salerno.
The Salerno Prosecutor’s Office (substitute prosecutor Alessandro De Vico) – as anticipated by several newspapers – contests the crime of complicity in manslaughter for failure to look after the animals against Gaia Sabato (defended by the lawyer Daniele Olivieri) and Fabio Fiorillo, the two owners of the pit bulls who bit and killed little Francesco Pio. The same crime hypothesis also applies to the child’s uncles, Simone and Giuseppe Santoro, and to their half-sister, as well as the child’s mother, Paola Ferrentino, legally separated from her husband.

Registration is an act required in view of the autopsy examination which should be held immediately after the conferral, scheduled today.
Gaia Sabato – together with the dogs – would have remained in the building where the tragedy occurred, her husband would have left in December. From that period, the child’s mother and her son had been hosted in the lady’s house and, at a later time, her brothers too.
At the end of March, however, Gaia Sabato also left the house, while the dogs were entrusted to her friend with the obligation to provide her with all the means for their support.
Furthermore, according to what was learned, two pit bulls, until the day of the tragedy, had never proven to be dangerous, as they had always been cared for with love, like two children, given, moreover, that the couple did not even have children.

Two Facebook profiles, both with photos of their children, with hearts and dedications. Paola Ferrentino changed her profile picture by putting a photo of the little one, with a broken heart and a face crying loudly. The woman has a 5-year-old girl and a 3-year-old boy. Francesco Pio, on the other hand, celebrated one year last March 8th. There were many messages of condolence from her friends who, commenting on the photo of the little one, wrote to her to be strong “now that the child has become an angel”. The City writes it online.

Meanwhile, the mayor of Salerno, Vincenzo Napoli, accepted the request of the little boy’s family and the request of the mayor of Eboli Mario Conte. Francesco Pio will be buried in the Campo Angeli 1 area in Brignano
