Lamezia Terme – With the Decree of 22 April 2024 of the Director General of the Ministry of Business and Made in Italy Giuseppe Bronzino and the Director Marco Calabrò of the Department for Business Policies Division VIII Interventions for Local Development were assigned to Lameziaeuropa spa, Responsible Party of the Lamezzo and Agrolametino Territorial Pact, the financial resources equal to 9,971,124.11 euros for the implementation of the entrepreneurial and public initiatives of the Smart Arena Pilot Project. Lameziaeuropa has already countersigned the Decree for acceptance with the commitment to fully implement the pilot project by 31 December 2026.

“As is known, the Smart Arena pilot project was presented by Lameziaeuropa on 15 February 2022 as the Responsible Party of the Lamezia and Agrolametino Territorial Pacts in collaboration with the Municipality of Lamezia Terme, leader, and the 20 Municipalities of the Lamezia District and was confirmed in seventh place among the 11 financed also in the new definitive national ranking issued in November 2023, unique in Calabria – explain from Lameziaeuropa – The Mayor of Lamezia Terme Paolo Mascaro, the President and Director of Lameziaeuropa Leopoldo Chieffallo and Tullio Rispoli, thank the Minister of Business and Made in Italy, Adolfo Ursus who with a decree last February had assigned 66.2 million euros to the pilot projects, the General Director Giuseppe Bronzino and the Manager Marco Calabrò who quickly allowed the issuing of the decree assigning the resources which allows us to move on to the operational phase and to overcome this prolonged stalemate phase which lasted over two years from the presentation of the project and to concretely implement the 30 innovation projects financed for 2 million euros and presented in January 2022 by as many companies operating in the Lamezo area of ​​Patto and to the definition and implementation of digital infrastructural interventions for 7.5 million euros to be carried out in the area in favor of the 20 Municipalities of the Lamezzo district, protagonists of the Lamezzo and Agrolametino Territorial Pact. The Smart Arena pilot project consists of the Lametino Digital Land unitary public intervention which provides for a contribution of 7.5 million euros based on the approval of the project proposal of the Municipality of Lamezia Terme referred to in the Municipal Council resolution no. 38 of 02/07/2022 assumed as Lead Municipality of the 20 Municipalities of the Lamezia District Patto Area and of 30 technological innovation programs presented by SMEs located in the Patto area (20 in Lamezia Terme, 5 in Soveria Mannelli, 2 in Falerna , 1 in San Mango D’Aquino, Gizzeria and Maida) which provide a total contribution of 1,992,308.68 euros. The total investments envisaged by the pilot project are equal to 11,492,617.35 euros including the share of participation through the contribution of own resources by the 30 admitted SMEs”.
