Milan, new name for the bench: the news shocks everyone

At Milan, the casting for the new coach continues, with a new name that seems to be in pole position to replace Stefano Pioli.

The season of Milan is now considered concluded. The defeat in the derby which gave Inter the twentieth championship has in fact put the tombstone to a very disappointing year. Although there are still five matches to play, the Rossoneri team is no longer fighting for any objective and the motivation is struggling to be there. Second place in the championship, which will allow them to compete in the Italian Super Cup next season, is safe and, after leaving the Europa League, the team Stefano Pioli there is nothing left.

Precisely for this reason the club management has already started to move ahead of next season. The main issue at the moment is certainly the one regarding the new technical leadership of the team. As is now well known, Pioli will not be confirmed at the end of the championship back on the Rossoneri bench and will be sacked, with the management already moving to find the right name to replace the Parma coach. There are many candidates on the list of the Via Aldo Moro club, with a new name which however seems to currently be in pole position.

Milan, new coach: Mark van Bommel in pole position

With the farewell of Stefano Pioli, after five seasons and a Scudetto, the management of Milan is now certain continues to work to find a technician capable of collecting his legacy and bringing innovative ideas. There have been several names already linked to the bench of the Rossoneri club in recent days: from the much sought after Antonio Conte to the Spanish coach Julen Lopeteguipassing through the former Rome Paulo Fonseca. In the last few hours, as reported by colleagues at SportMediaset, the name that the Milanese club would have given at the top of the list would be that of a former Rossoneri player.

It would be about Mark van Bommelformer midfielder for the Dutch national team and current coach of Antwerp. Van Bommel’s tactical ideas would have convinced the club’s management: offensive football based on the development of play on the flanks and offensive pressing. Zlatan Ibrahimovic, now inserted into the mechanisms of Red Bird for some time, would continue to wanting to focus on Conte, considered by the Swede to be the only one who would bring smiles back to the square. The final choice will be made by Gerry Cardinale, who however would have made it clear to the former striker that the operation, between salary and players to buy, should be beyond the established budget.
