Readers will have to understand why on 11 April the city council rejected by majority a motion from the 5 Star Movement (the councilor Eros A. Gaddi) and of the Mixed Group (the councillor Monica Medici), which asked to plant 500/1,000 more trees and shrubs in the Cappuccina Park, reviewing the original project. And a week later, on 18 April, a motion from the same centre-left majority was voted almost unanimously (with only the Lega and Fratelli d’Italia abstentions) which, despite concocting a bit, expressed “willingness” to evaluate a “further qualification ” of the same Park, with other trees and shrubs, but in line with the original project. The difference lies precisely in this last point: respect for the original project which was that of an agricultural park, while the direction taken by Gaddi and Medici was that of a wooded area. On their own Gaddi and Medici have put forward the absurdity, reiterated by the councilor also in the debate on the majority motion, of conceiving an agricultural park in a city that is not very far from the real countryside and which above all needs shade, to clean the air , to have an island of coolness instead of an island of heat such as the park and the path that runs through it become in the torrid summer months.
