It will be a Cocktail Week with a decidedly fusion flavour, which from Thursday 25 April to Thursday 2 May will involve the best places to drink well in Udine: after the success of the first two editions, the appointment with quality mixology is renewed in the Friulian city , thanks to a calendar full of tastings led by industry experts, masterclasses, courses and cultural events. There will be no shortage of guests starring some of the most important names on the Italian scene, including the bartenders Giancarlo Mancino, Dom Carella, Flavio Angiolillo, Samuele Ambrosi and Marco Gheza.

In light of the concomitance and collaboration with the 26th Far East Film Festival – the most important Far Eastern cinema festival in Europe – a special focus within the Udine Cocktail Week 2024 will be dedicated to the Asian world, an authentic common thread of numerous moments: just think of the conference organized in collaboration with Giulia Tacchini of the Milanese association Entonote and moderated by the journalist Anna Dazzan on the topic of the use of edible insects in the kitchen. In addition to talking about sustainability, pollution, and use of resources, an aperitif will be held with food pairing between “unusual” cocktails and edible insectsboth whole and in the form of crackers or focaccias.

The pairing, even if not so… extreme, will also be the protagonist of the Asian style dinners which will be set up in some of the participating cocktail bars, with a combination of cocktail and course. Furthermore, during the week there is space for different sake tastings led by WSET 3rd level certified sommeliers. And again: within the Udine Cocktail Week 2024 there will be a moment of floral art led by the expert Giuseppe Contartese of the International Floral Designer School “Laboratorio Idee” in which the characteristic ikebana Japanese drinks will be combined with thematic cocktails. Finally, on Sunday 28 April the Cold Street tattoo studio will create Asian-style tattoos without an appointment, combined with an aperitif oriental style set up in the adjacent wine shop.

“Our Udine Cocktail Week – the organizers explain with satisfaction, Jana and Gianmaria Passone of IDEA – sIt is aimed not only at bartenders and industry professionals, but mainly at the public (including those who prefer non-alcoholic cocktails) who frequent the participating venues, an aspect that has been particularly appreciated by our sponsors who believe this to be a winning formula. We are also particularly proud of the link with the Far East Film Festival, which pushed us to study an oriental-style mixology.”
