BARI – “What do you prefer? An urban cycle/pedestrian park, pine forest and agricultural park; or beaches equipped with restaurants, shops, villas and hotels?”.

This is the survey promoted on the Forza Italia Bari Facebook page. So far, over two thousand people from Bari have responded to the question. And almost two out of three voted for the second option, that is, for a Bari of the future that also grows and lives on the southern coast overlooking the sea and not confined to the hinterland.

In other words, the City of Bari, or at least the large statistical sample that participated in the survey, seems to be going exactly in the opposite direction indicated by the Decaro Administration, which only a month ago asked for and obtained it from the majority in the Council which supports the approval of the Executive Plan (which anticipates the General Urban Plan) and the urban planning variations of Bari Costasud.

For Forza Italia Bari, this is a wicked project, which changes the urban destination of the stretch of coast from Punta Perotti to San Giorgio, which excludes the model of a Mediterranean Dubai envisaged by the Quaroni Plan, overlooking the coast with beaches, villas, restaurants and hotels, providing, in its place, an agricultural park and an urban park costing around 75 million euros.

Forza Italia Bari, on the other hand, feels in tune with the majority of Bari people. And it is ready to work to return to the “Dubai model”, before an avalanche of land expropriations hits Bari (and legal disputes, which will clog up the courts and weigh heavily on the municipal coffers, due to the incorrect evaluation of the compensation for the owners carried out by the Municipality offices) and before witnessing the inevitable urban explosion of via Gentile, in the Japigia district, where the outgoing Administration intends to move the volumes (over 1,500 apartments) that were destined for the south coast.
