La Gazzetta dello Sport also interviewed Roberto Vecchionisinger-songwriter and Inter fan, obviously happy for the scudetto.

What’s it like under a star?
“I admit, I didn’t think I’d win with Milan, it almost seemed… too much, but luckily I made a mistake in my prediction. A fan is such because of two characteristics that I fully embrace: he enjoys arriving first and he enjoys seeing the others who watch it from below. This is why it is an immense pleasure, the kind that only Inter gives us. My team is always stellar, even when it loses.”

Which of your songs would you dedicate to Inzaghi?
“Simone is not Che Guevara, he is not impetus and revolution, but he is a very gentlemanly suitor, someone who does not pressurize the object of his love, namely Inter, but surrounds him with discreet attention. I think of “I would like to be your mother “, not one of my most famous songs: it tells of pure love and knowing how to feel the needs of those around us”.

Even Lautaro, as captain, understands the team’s needs.
“Yes, he is a fighting warrior, he throws himself into the fire to save Inter even when he can’t. He is the “tired Bandolero”, with that melancholy and Latin shade: he never laughs when they interview him, you can see that for he game and life overlap. I also see “Velasquez”, the protagonist of another song, who does not give up chasing an idea, he has reached it…”.

Back to the chair for a moment: who stands out in the Inter class?
“The leader of the class who takes charge of his teammates is Calhanoglu, perhaps the only one who doesn’t know a break. And then he never misses penalties: but how does he do it? Apart from that nasty racism story, I liked Acerbi’s defense, ready to bang like crazy.”

If you go further east from Samarkand you arrive in China: happy with President Zhang?
“We are achieving great results, we are grateful to him. Then everyone knows that I and other more or less well-known Nerazzurri dreamed of a new Italian Inter. Nothing against China, mind you, but I remain a romantic of the twentieth century, perhaps of the nineteenth century, and I delude myself that the teams still belong to the fans. Our true spiritual, animal and emotional possession is in the shirt: the Nerazzurri is our mirror, who cares what’s inside or who the owner is.”
