An entire weekend to spend outdoors, with family or friends among nature, well-being, live music and DJ sets, sporting activities (fencing, military gymnastics, Olympic wrestling, just to name a few), cultural, recreational activities for adults and children, workshops, markets with around forty operators, street food & beverage, guided tours in the Po and Morbasco Park, cruises on the Po and much more.
This is what the second edition of A little festivean event organized by the Municipality of Cremona – in collaboration with the Cinzia Miraglio Agency and the precious support provided by the Culture and Tourism, Sport and Vast Area Sectors together with the Ecological Guards of the PLIS of the Po and Morbasco – which will be held on 1Next May 8th and 19th, in Lungo Po Europa, from 10am to midnight.
“The event scheduled for next May 18th to 19th is a further opportunity to enhance the Po Park as a meeting and leisure place for families, children, the elderly and also tourists, as well as to get to know and experience one of the larger green areas easily reachable from the city center”, comment the deputy mayor Andrea Virgilio, the councilor for Commerce and Tourism Barbara Manfredini and the Councilor for Culture Luca Burgazzi.
“Even ‘Un Po in festa’ – they continue – is part of the path of interventions that, in recent years, the Municipality of Cremona, together with some local entities, has implemented to redevelop this important sector near the river, enhancing and enhancing the ecological functionality of the area, as well as improving its structural characteristics as a whole. Think, for example, of the restoration of highly anthropized ecological corridors, of the promotion of the protection and safeguarding of the flora and fauna present in the Po and Morbasco Park”.
“To all this – conclude the deputy mayor and the councilors – are added the actions undertaken to relaunch and strengthen river tourism, such as, for example, the new mooring on the Po, as well as sporting and recreational activities: just think of the camping, the connections cycle paths and the redevelopment of some areas owned by the municipality, all aimed at integrating the river channel with other infrastructures such as the VenTo cycle pathso as to further strengthen the attractiveness of the area and the development of slow tourism”.
“I would like to thank first of all the municipal administration of Cremona for the great collaboration of all the competent offices and for the trust. In this second edition we wanted new activities in the program, new exhibitors and new menus to involve visitors more. It is an event dedicated to sociality, sharing and the well-being of people, developed in different languages, in a magnificent place much loved by the people of Cremona. Furthermore, it will be an opportunity to learn more about the Po Park, which is interesting from an environmental point of view. It is challenging planning, organizational and coordination work, but we are experiencing exciting weeks, full of expectations.
