Bergamo. Terna today started the final phase of the activities envisaged in the plan modernization of the Bergamo electricity grid. The intervention, which began in September 2023 with the construction of the civil works necessary for the laying of the new underground cable, involves the replacement of the existing 132kV power line with fluid oil insulation that crosses the city along the route via Mazzini, via XXIV Maggio , via Corpo Italiano di Liberazione, via Salvo d’Acquisto and via Koch. The specialized activities of laying and joining the new cables, which Terna expects to complete by the first half of June, will involve via Corpo Italiano di Liberazione and via Mazzini. The work, for which the company has invested 6 million euros, once completed will guarantee greater quality of the energy transmission service in the city of Bergamo thanks also to the use of latest generation cables with more efficient and sustainable technology and which requires less maintenance. The Municipality of Bergamo has issued an ordinance which provides for the following road measures, from 9 am on Monday 29 Aprilfor progressive sections of construction site progress:
First phase
In via Mazzini in the stretch between Via XXIV Maggio and Via IV Novembre: permanent parking ban with forced removal on both sides for all categories of vehicles except construction site vehicles, establishment of one-way traffic in the direction of Via Nullo, diversion of pedestrians onto the pavement opposite to that affected by the works and establishment of the speed of 30 KM/H
In via IV Novembre at the intersection with Via Mazzini: no access in the direction of Via XXIV Maggio
Second phase
In via Mazzini near numbers 6 and 8: permanent parking ban with forced removal, on both sides, for all categories of vehicles except construction vehicles, narrowing of the visible roadway with simultaneous establishment of alternating one-way traffic regulated by traffic controllers, if necessary, establishment of speed limit 30 KM/h
In the public car park on Via Mazzini located on the side of numbers 6 and 8: permanent parking ban with forced removal, on both sides, for all categories of vehicles except construction vehicles, narrowing of the visible roadway with simultaneous establishment of alternating one-way traffic regulated by traffic controllers, if necessary, establishment of speed limit 30 KM/h
