School, the hub for innovation, research and regional training opens in Pisa

A training space open to teachers and to students across Tuscany to give them support in pedagogical research, access to innovative resources and enrich the teaching and learning experience. It’s the new one Hubs for Innovation, Research and Regional Traininginaugurated on Wednesday 24 April at the “Da Vinci-Fascetti” Institute of Higher Education in Pisa.

The project was born from a collaboration between the Regional Council of Tuscany, the Regional School Office, the National Institute for Documentation, Innovation, Educational Research and the University of Pisa and is financed by the Regional Council with an amount of 75 thousand euros for three years (from 2023 to 2025).

The functions of the hub

The aim is to promote quality, learning-oriented education.innovation and research, in order to better prepare students for the challenges of the future, through the exchange of good practices between schools in the region.

Among the specific objectives of the hub are the strengthening of teachers’ teaching skills, the adoption of new technologies in teaching and the offer of tools for the analysis and monitoring of their professional skills. To this end the hub will provide a wide range of targeted training activities, including courses, laboratories, workshops and seminars, conferences and research projects.

The space is equipped with digital technologies that can also be used a school by the students. If the afternoon will be open for teacher training, in the morning it will in fact be available to local schools.
