Rain and unseasonal cold did not dampen the enthusiasm of the numerous children belonging to the 3rd San Giovanni Bosco club present this morning at the inauguration of the pump track circuit created by the Municipality of Bisceglie thanks to a regional loan of 500 thousand euros with which it was recovered an area already in a state of abandonment in the San Pietro district, in front of the church of the same name and next to Piazza Don Milani.
The structure consists of two routes, of different difficulties, for the practice of sports on non-motorized wheeled vehicles: bicycles, but also rollerblades, scooters and skateboards. Numerous authorities attended the ribbon cutting, including the regional president of CONI, Angelo Giliberto.
The creation of the pump track circuit, which will guarantee safe and danger-free practice for athletes of all ages, is part of the broader redevelopment project of the San Pietro district, as highlighted by Mayor Angarano.
Just in time for the unveiling of the inaugural plaque, cycling champion Francesco Moser is in Puglia these days to take part in a celebratory event 40 years after setting the world Hour record on the track.
