This morning, during a short ceremony which took place in the courtyard of Palazzo Spada, the Fiat Doblò XL, adequately equipped for the transport of disabled people and also people in wheelchairs, was delivered to the UNITALSI Association of Terni, in scope of the Pulminoamico project.
It should be underlined the massive presence of local sponsors who joined the initiative and allowed the van to be made available to the Unitalsi of Terni but which will be used not only in Terni as explained by the delegation president Pietro Fioretti : “we will leave our natural environment – said Fioretti – to bring people with disabilities to Terni to get the special license and to accompany them home. It is a service that was missing given that the simulator for the practical test is only in Terni at the Autonomy Centre. We are organizing this type of service with all the social areas of Umbria”.
“There are many people with disabilities – added Fioretti – and we always need new means, new resources and new volunteers”.
A souvenir plaque was donated to all sponsors.
Pulminoamico is an initiative of the welfare department of the municipality of Terni which Unitalsi has joined.
