The average income in the Empolese Valdelsa area is 21,349.61 euros, and 21,820.5 euros in the Leather District. If we briefly extend our gaze to Tuscany, Lajatico is the richest municipality with an average income of 52,955.3 euros, second in Italy only to Portofino. Roccalbegna, however, with 14,705 euros, is last in the rankings in Tuscany. This is what emerges from the data released by the Mef on the Irpef and VAT returns presented last year and relating to the 2022 tax year.

Among the richest municipalities in the Empoli Valdelsa area is Empoli, with an average income of 22,971.1 euros, while Montaione brings up the rear with 19,388.1. Compared to the provincial capital Florence, the average income is quite lower: in Florence, in fact, the average income is 26,133.2 euros. Note the differentiation between the Empoli area and the Valdelsa, in which approximately 2-3 thousand euros of income difference ‘dance’ in favor of the first area, with Montespertoli acting as a link between the two with 21,658.2 euros.

In the Leather area, San Miniato is the municipality with the highest average income with 22,717.3 euros, while the lowest is that of Castelfranco di Sotto with 20,417.2. Also in this case, compared to the provincial capital the data are lower: in Pisa there is in fact 25,773.8 euros of per capita income.
