The CGIL of Salerno, with its categories, on tomorrow 25 April, will participate in the celebration of the 79th anniversary of the Liberation together with the Municipality of Salerno, the Prefecture of Salerno and the Anpi, National Association of Partisans of Italy.
At the same time as the initiatives promoted by the city institutions, the CGIL will launch the referendum campaign to change the rules that have impoverished work, making workers more vulnerable, with fewer rights and with a greater possibility of being fired.
It will be possible to add your signature at the Anpi stands, in Piazza Vittorio Veneto adjacent to the train station and the other in Piazza Vittorio Veneto.
Four questions were asked. The first two on dismissals, one on overcoming the contract with increasing protections and the other on compensation in small businesses; the third on the reintroduction of the presence of reasons for fixed-term contracts; and the fourth, relating to procurement, on the client’s responsibility for accidents at work.
«Today, as then, we find ourselves at a dangerous crossroads. We must use all the democratic tools in our possession to defend individual and collective freedom so as not to be dragged into the abyss of a new fascism – states Antonio Apadula, Secretary of the CGIL Salerno -. It is a duty to celebrate the heroic effort of the partisans to free our nation and, even more a duty, to work so that we never again run the risk of going back in time, to the point of having to retrace the darkest pages of our history. Work is freedom. Work is dignity. We will stubbornly move forward in defending the constitutional rights necessary to guarantee the protection of fundamental rights for all citizens.
