With ordinance no. 17 signed by the Mayor of Carrara, the prolonged and optional activation of thermal heating systems in the municipal area was authorized until next April 30th and for a maximum of 6 hours per day. The switch-on time must be between 5 am and 11 pm of each day, dividing the daily heating time allowed into two or more sections.
Citizens are invited to limit switching on during the coldest hours, remembering that the maximum ambient temperature values are those indicated by art. 3 of Presidential Decree 16.4.2013 n. 74, or 20°C + 2°C tolerance, with the exception of buildings used for industrial, artisanal and similar activities for which the maximum temperature of 18°C + 2°C tolerance.
The Municipality of Carrara falls within the “D” climate zone, for which it is foreseen that the heating systems can be activated for 12 hours a day from 1 November to 15 April: outside of this period the heating systems can only be activated in the presence of of climatic situations that justify its exercise and, in any case, with a daily duration not exceeding half of that allowed ordinarily.
The ordinance became necessary following the weather forecasts of the Functional Center of the Tuscany Region, which confirm the continuation of the adverse climatic conditions which are causing a drop in average seasonal temperatures in the coming days.
