Condofuri, mistreatment of parents and brother: two 29-year-olds removed from the family home with a ban on approaching the offended people

The Carabinieri of the Melito Porto Salvo Company have implemented the application order of the precautionary measure of removal from the family home and the ban on approaching the places usually frequented by the offended parties issued by the Judge for Preliminary Investigations of the Court of Reggio Calabria upon request of the Public Prosecutor’s Office of the capital of Reggio in regards to dtwo 29-year-old brothers, investigated for the crime of domestic abuse.
The story originates from the painful complaint of the mother of the suspects who, exasperated by the continuous violence and threats suffered by her children and worried about her own safety and that of her family, found the courage to ask for help from the Carabinieri of the Condofuri San Carlo station . There were numerous mistreatments carried out by the suspects, consisting of a series of episodes of violence, not only verbal but also physical, and harassment which continued for years according to regular and constant cadences.
This difficult family situation was also confirmed by the woman’s husband and the brother of the two 29-year-olds. These are declarations full of suffering, of fear that the worst could happen and of inability, after so many years, to suffer and tolerate this escalation of violent and threatening conduct, carried out in tandem by the two suspects at the address of the family members thus ccreating a daily family climate of terror and anxiety, the frequency of which was such that it made family coexistence unsustainable and intolerable so much so that he turned to the family doctor to prescribe some tranquilizers that could be used for the 2 young people.
Following the events reported by the victims, the Carabinieri of the Condofuri San Carlo station, after having listened carefully to the offended people as well as those informed of the facts, collecting every useful element to substantiate the facts exposed in detail, promptly informed the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Reggio Calabria which, on the basis of a serious set of circumstantial evidence against the two brothers, requested the Judge for preliminary investigations of the Court of Reggio Calabria to issue an adequate precautionary measure.
The same, in addition to the removal from the family home and the ban on approaching places frequented by the offended people, will have to maintain a distance of no less than 500 meters from the latter, refraining from communicating with them by any means.
The proceeding is in the preliminary investigation phase and the principle of not guilty applies to the suspect until the final sentence.
