Dr. Dimatteo intervenes: “This is aopportunity to clarify the PTA and talk about future projects, of which there are many. We are applying Ministerial Decree 77 to strengthen assistance in the area and with the intention of making it grow. Meanwhile, I highlight the active services, which are greater than the 2016 agreement: for example, a 24-hour fixed medical station also with a doctor on board and nurses on board and which in 2023 counted 7000 accesses; territorial radiology; the analysis laboratory of which the sampling point has been strengthened, with a 60% increase in 2023 and guaranteed timely results; added activities are all those connected to the surgical day service; there is a center for vascular access, hospital clinics”.

“With regards to ophthalmology – specifies the manager – no closure or transfer is foreseen, but some operations will be carried out in Bisceglie for reasons linked to the safety of more complex patients. Then again oncological cardiology, considered an excellence; a dialysis center and the new one will be inaugurated soon; hematology and oncology; gynecology with second and third level screening; and other activities. I seem to be able to confirm that the activities of the 2016 protocol have been completed if not expanded. With PNRR funding to refunctionalize the environments, we are building a cot-hub, a community house and a community hospital with 20 beds, and the construction of a publicly managed RSA with 20 beds is also planned. Many of the activities suffer from a lack of staff and compromise some services, but they cannot be directly managed by us, often the notices for specialists go unnoticed”.
