GROSSETO – The Province was invited to participate as a case study in the seminar organized by the Pnrr Commission of the Order of Engineers of Rome, which took place in recent days in the capital, at Palazzo Esedra.

Speakers for the provincial administration included engineer Gianluca Monaci, director of the technical area of ​​the Province of Grosseto; the engineer Chiara di Girolamo and the lawyer Annalisa Messina, Pnrr experts. Among the various speakers, Nadia Linciano and Giovanna Ciccioli, respectively director and manager of the Pnrr mission structure of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, and Raffaele Barbato, director of the Strategic Planning and Pnrr department of Roma Capitale, also participated.

The seminar aimed to illustrate the state of progress of the Pnrr through the concrete experience of professionals, also in light of the recent remodulation of the Plan, which took place in November 2023.

“The Province of Grosseto respected all the deadlines imposed by the Pnrr, both as regards the awarding and the start of the works – declare the Province -. This involves a huge amount of interventions with several construction sites open at the same time. In particular, on mission 4 C1-I3.3 ‘Securing and redeveloping schools’, the Province has obtained Pnrr funding for six energy efficiency and seismic adaptation projects for a total of 9 million and 600 thousand euros which concern the following schools higher education: extraordinary maintenance of the Leopoldo II di Lorena hotel institute in Grosseto, with the replacement of the fixtures, the installation of a photovoltaic system for the production of energy from renewable sources (1 million and 689 thousand euros work in progress); Fossombroni commercial institute in Grosseto replacement of fixtures and maintenance of the roof (1 million and 376 thousand euros work in progress); extraordinary maintenance of the gym of the Pietro Aldi high school center in Grosseto (731 thousand euros, intervention completed); static consolidation of the staircase, seismic and fire prevention adaptation of the “Del Rosso” institute in Orbetello (1 million and 825 thousand euros, work nearing completion); assembly of the new school gym of Rosmini di Grosseto, at the student citadel, in the space in front of the Pietro Aldi high school complex. The gym is a sustainable building from an energy point of view, at the service of students, but also available for sports associations and for extracurricular activities and competitions, being a structure approved by CONI. (2 million and 914 thousand euros, work in progress). Finally, the seismic adaptation and energy efficiency of the Zuccarelli technical-economic institute in Pitigliano: (965 thousand euros, work in progress)”.

“On the M4 c1 -I1.3 mission ‘Infrastructures for sport at the service of schools’ the Province of Grosseto has obtained additional resources of 7 and a half million euros: of which 4 and a half million for the redevelopment of the outdoor sports facility, at the Student Citadel in Grosseto. The aim is to create a six-lane athletics track suitable for Fidal, equipped with a long jump track and jump tracks, with an 11-a-side grass football pitch, a multi-purpose field for basketball and volleyball and a synthetic grass field for seven-a-side football; furthermore, the construction of a new covered grandstand for spectators and the completion of the car park with the arrangement of the green area around the structure. (works in progress). With 3 million and 100 thousand euros the Province will also redevelop the outdoor sports facility serving the scientific high school and the commercial institute of Follonica. This is an intervention similar to that of Grosseto, with the exception of the multipurpose track which is not planned in Follonica. The works are in progress. A curiosity: they were awarded by the Mondo company which is the same one that is building the athletics track for the Paris Olympics, which will take place in August”.

All works must be completed by March 31, 2026 and testing must be carried out by June 30, 2026.

“Lastly, but not least – concludes the Province -, the works to create the Maremma section of the Tirrenica cycle route, a unique cycle route, among the longest and most evocative in Italy, which will run parallel to the sea ​​for approximately 930 kilometres, connecting Ventimiglia to Rome. The Maremma one (65 kilometers long) will be the first section of the Tirrenica cycle route to be built. The Province, having been nominated by the Region as a second-level implementing body, is dealing with all the awarding documents: we are talking about a maxi-contract worth 17 million and 600 thousand euros, of which 16 thousand and 341 financed by the Pnrr and 1 million and 265 thousand euros financed by the Municipalities crossed by the cycle path”.
