It was supposed to be a gift for his wife and instead it became the subject of a theft complaint. As reported Daily fact, Piero Fassino was reported for the attempted theft of a perfume at the airport Fiumicino.
The episode dates back to April 15th and occurred inshopping area of the Roman airport, where the PD deputy was waiting for the plane to Strasbourg, where he had to participate in the work of the Italian delegation at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.

According to the reconstruction provided to Everyday occurrence by the former mayor of Turin, before going to the boarding gate Fassino stopped at duty free where he has I bought a bottle of perfume of a well-known brand, which was supposed to be a gift for his wife.
At that moment it would be the cell phone rang: “Having the trolley in one hand and the cell phone in the other, not having three hands yet, I simply supported the perfume packaging in the jacket pocketwaiting to go to the checkout” said the parliamentarian.
Fassino would then have moved away beyond the crates, causing the trigger the anti-shoplifting alarm and supervisory intervention. According to the former minister, however, he would have been blocked by a security guard as soon as he put the perfume in his pocket.
A discussion therefore arose between Fassino and the security personnel, the parliamentarian tried to exonerate oneself from the prosecution, ha asked to pay for the perfume and at one point he even offered to buy two.
But there was nothing to be done: the police officers who intervened on the spot and the vigilantes reviewed the camera images surveillance and in the end the store managers decided to file a complaint against Fassino.

“I am amazed for an episode that I thought I had already clarified with those responsible,” he declared Piero Fassino in a note in which he reconstructs what happened at Fiumicino airport.
“In my life I have not never appropriated anything. And I certainly didn’t intend to misappropriate a small bottle of perfume that I would have liked to pay“, said the Democratic Party deputy.
The Aelia Lagardère company that manages the duty free has not yet released a statement on the episode.
