End of the nightmare for a 22-year-old from Catania, victim of a real hell for several months, forced to suffer harassment and aggression from her partner. The soldiers of the Catania Radiomobile Unit intervened at the young woman’s home after her sister, at the end of yet another serious episode of violence, had called the soldiers to ask for help.
The attacks
The victim showed up with a noticeable bandage on her head and a worrying difficulty in speaking, caused by severe pain from the deep wound on the side of her head, caused the night before by her ex-partner, also 22 years old, a convicted felon from Catania. The girl said that a few minutes before her, she had received yet another heavy telephone threat from her ex, who had even “announced” that he wanted to cut the throat and head of her and her family.
The story of the harassment
The woman found the strength to ask the military for help, telling what had happened in the previous months, spent indulging the 22-year-old, despite the end of the relationship. After having welcomed the young man into her home, even during the period in which he had been subjected to house arrest for drugs, after the various violence she had chased him away without however managing to avoid the maniacal jealousy of her ex, who kept her under control through his social media, also forcing her to continuously share her location on her cell phone with him.
The latest episode of violence
The victim told the military that the day before, in the late afternoon, agreeing to the request for a final meeting, he had actually met the boy near the Catania cemetery. Here the 22-year-old, against the will of her wife, pushed her and made her get into her SUV, imposing on her that the last meeting had to take place at her house, where he would also smoke her last cigarette and give her given the last kiss. Having reached the steps of her home, the young man, after taking a large scissors out of his pocket, attacked her, starting to frantically cut locks of her hair, then causing a deep wound on the front side of her head, at the height of the temple.
The arrest
At that point the 22-year-old stopped a motorcyclist passing by on the street and asked him to accompany the girl to the hospital emergency room, where the doctors treated his wound with dozens of stitches. The police immediately tracked down and arrested the 22-year-old, under house arrest, for the crime of family abuse and aggravated personal injury. The man, also reported for escape, was made available to the Judicial Authority which, after validating the arrest, ordered him to be placed in precautionary custody in prison.
