Tense climate at Milan after the elimination from the Europa League and the defeat in the derby: serious accusations from a player
It wasn’t the night that all the fans of Milan they could dream of, that of the derby which sealed the victory of the Scudetto for Inter. Just as it wasn’t the year the fans could have expected at the start of this season. After an overall positive 2024, in the space of two-three weeks the Rossoneri managed to ruin the good things they had done. And in light of what happened in the derby, tension has skyrocketed, also involving some of those directly involved.
There is disappointment with what happened, there is no denying it. A disappointment that arises from the fact of never having been competitive for the championship, from the fact of having been eliminated prematurely from Championsfrom having emerged in a clear and peremptory manner fromEuropa League against an opponent, Roma, who was not exactly irresistible and for finally, the icing on a terrible cake, allowing Inter to win their twentieth scudetto in the derby.
Faced with a series of failures of this type, at Milan it is necessary to reflect on what to do. A refoundation at this point is almost a given, and is hoped for by everyone, even by some of those directly interested. Immediately after the final whistle from the referee Colombo, the outburst of one of the Rossoneri players caused quite a stir, essentially inviting the club to further strengthen the squad if it wants to aim to win some trophies again in the future.

Without great players, great victories cannot come. An obvious truth that many fans loudly support. However, hearing a phrase like that from a footballer is quite special. On the one hand it denotes the desire to reach the same goals that the fans would like to achieve. On the other hand it almost takes on the contours of a j’accuse towards some teammates.
Indulging in this outburst was noisy to say the least Yacine Adli. Not a particularly positive protagonist in the derby with Inter, after seeing the Nerazzurri triumph on the pitch the French midfielder wanted to raise his voice. And to the microphones of Mediaset he made an unusual statement to say the least.
As if he were the first of the fans, the former Bordeaux player made it clear to the club that the time to invest has come: “We have a project based on several years, there is still time but we all have to do much more. If the club wants to win the team must be strong, we need strong players“.
Clear words, in some ways severe, which seem to put a management with its back to the wall which, evidently, from Adli’s point of view, would not have done what was necessary to build a truly competitive squad. It remains to be seen whether this appeal will be heard, and whether in some way it will not also determine the future of Adli himself, who could become a cornerstone of the Milan of the future, but could also no longer be part of it.
