The scenery of the Pitagora Park, the books, the music and above all the enthusiasm of hundreds of students from the Crotone schools were the ingredients of the Reading Marathon promoted by the Municipal Council of Girls and Boys and girls and boys of the Municipality of Crotone in collaboration with the “Armando Lucifero” Municipal Library on the occasion of the International Book Day and copyright.
A participatory initiative which was held this morning during which there were readings and stories theatrical and musical moments organized by the schools themselves, also with the participation of “special” guests. The theme covered was the earth, considering that the previous day, April 22nd, was celebrated International Earth Day. Mayor V participated in the initiative with the baby councillorsincenzo Voice and the city councilor Dalila Venneri.
After the introduction and institutional greetings, the intervention of the head of the Library Valeria Cassano and the official Antonio Siclari a real reading marathon was started during which the students of the schools present passed the baton in the name of culture and respect for the environment. From Aesop to Gianni Rodari, from Brecht to Jean Giono there have been many authors protagonists of the readings from the boys. The protagonists were also the children who participated in the “Library Frequencies” project
“This one today is one beautiful day. And it is you who make it special,” said Mayor Voce in his speech. “Today we celebrate both Earth Day and Book Day. We organized this fantastic day with the boys. A moment of conviviality to rediscover the sense of belonging to the territory but also to our culture” said city councilor Dalila Venneri.
