Fire at dawn at the Santa Chiara hospital, no one injured

A fire broke out at dawn today, April 24, at the Santa Chiara hospital in Trento in an examination room (endoscopy), on the second floor.

The alarm went off at 6am and 17 permanent firefighters and volunteers from Pergine Valsugana were immediately brought to the scene with additional ladder trucks and platforms. They put out the fire by 6.45 am.

The cause of the fire is currently unclear. No patients were in the areas affected by the fire when the flames broke out. No injuries were reported and no patients were evacuated from the hospital.

The operations were coordinated by the Civil Protection, Forestry and Wildlife Department with the Fire Fighting and Civil Protection Service, in agreement with the Presidency of the Province, the Department of Health and the General Management of Pat and Apss. Remediation operations were immediately activated and are underway: there are no repercussions on healthcare activities.

During the emergency, the volunteer firefighters of Povo and Gardolo covered any further rescue calls.
