It will be completed by the end of the year railway link on the line Pescara – L’Aquila.
This is what emerged during a meeting between Trenitalia, the Region, the Italian Railway Network and the commuters committee of the Sulmona – L’Aquila railway line.
The work, evaluated in 12 million eurosinvolves the construction of a new stop in the locality of Saint Rufinaabout three kilometers from Sulmona central station, and a stretch of railway approximately long 700 meters which connects the Pescara – Rome line to the Sulmona – L’Aquila route.
The new small station will be equipped with a 250 meter long platform, two shelters, monitors and acoustic signs for public information, as well as a car park of approximately 2,700 square metres.
“From the committee, we insist that the train service on the Sulmona – L’Aquila route be preserved, while trains coming from L’Aquila and heading to Pescara should be an addition”, they underline.
“If the journey starts from Sulmona station and ends in Santa Rufina, there will inevitably be inconvenience.”
