CHARLOTTE, North Carolina — Syracuse women’s lacrosse begins ACC Tournament play with a quarterfinal match up against Louisville on Wednesday, April 24 at 11 am The Orange hold the coveted one seed as they head into tournament play with a 12-4 record.

ORANGE UPDATE
Syracuse recorded an 8-1 league record to claim its first outright ACC regular-season title, and third overall. The Orange are making their 10th appearance in the ACC Tournament. Syracuse has an all-time record of 13-8 in ACC Tournament play, including a 7-2 mark in the quarterfinals.

SCOUTING THE CARDINALS
Louisville is 8-10 overall and entered the ACC Tournament as the ninth seed. The Cardinals upset Virginia Tech in their first-round matchup, winning 13-11.

Kokoro Nakazawa led the Louisville offense with 60 goals and 81 total points, ranking among the top three in the ACC in both categories. Nicole Perroni contributed 45 goals, including four in the first-round victory against the Hokies.

Sara Addeche has started 13 games between the pipes, recording a .408 save percentage and a 14.08 goals-against average.

SERIES HISTORY
Wednesday’s matchup will be the 15th all-time meeting between Syracuse and Louisville, with the Orange leading the series, 14-1. The quarterfinal match up will mark the first time the two teams meet in the ACC Tournament.

Syracuse defeated the Cardinals, 22-12, earlier this season at the JMA Wireless Dome. The Orange had six multi-goal scorers, while Delaney Sweitzer made eight saves in the victory.
