It is an important result achieved at home by the leaders Conad Lecce Volley. In the penultimate match of the championship, in fact, the Giallorossi led by the coaches Saccomanno and Caiulo were right against the Bari team of Gioia del Colle, winning the match by three to zero. An ending that is not at all obvious for the Lecce team, given the path expressed during the championship by the visiting team confirmed by the latest home success against the green and whites of Galatina. At the same time, the regret for the points lost in the trip to Mesagne, conditioned by the absence in the first minutes following the sudden injury to the starting spiker Cannazza, could only give a shock to the Giallorossi dressing room determined to exploit the last two championship matches to conquer important points to confirm the ranking as well as regain the certainties lost in the last period. Having set the objectives, Saccomanno, for the occasion, lines up Andrea Romano as director, the spikers Cannazzae Morciano, Grande and Di Zanno in the centre, the opposite player Cagnazzo and the libero Di Lecce.
The players from Bari appear on the pitch with the setter Ventrella, Scaramuzzi and Angelillo spikers, Copertino and Loiacono central players, the opposite player Tria and the libero Notarangelo.
Gioia is the first to ask for a time out with Conad leading 10 to 5. To shorten the gap for the guests, some errors of inaccuracy by the home team, however, were able to remedy the situation with the opposite Cagnazzo and the very effective central defender Grande on the wall and with the first times. The defeat suffered in Mesagne pushed us to work harder to reduce errors and strengthen our qualities. Winning today was mandatory and we did it,” continues the centre-back, “now we have to think about the last match against Galatina and we will do our best not to give away points to our pursuers, that’s a promise!” The three points won allow the Giallorossi to keep the distance from Mesagne unchanged and present themselves next Sunday as leaders
