The proposal of the Mayor of Bergamo Giorgio Gori is of these hours which asks all Mayors to read Antonio Scurati’s speech on the occasion of the celebrations on 25 April.

A nice proposal to give voice to the speech of Antonio Scurati censored by RAI for reasons still little known, through which the writer reminded us all of the tragedy of fascism which, thanks to the partisans, was defeated at the end of the Second World War. “Thanks to the Partisans – explain Gianfranco Caracciolo, Alessandro Mammucari and Stefano Setini of Uniti per Aprilia – our nation has known democracy and freedom, both strengthened by the Constitution that the founding fathers of the Italian Republic left to all of us.

Also in Aprilia we can make citizens feel the beauty and depth of Antonio Scurati’s words censored by RAI which remind us even more of the importance of anti-fascism, words which we ask Mayor Lanfranco Principi to read aloud on the occasion of the celebrations on 25 April.

We are on the eve of the anniversary of the Liberation from Nazi-fascism and the word that none of us should be afraid to pronounce, including the Prime Minister, will still throb on the grateful lips of all sincere democrats, be they left, center or right.

Until the word “Anti-fascism” is pronounced by all levels of government, the specter of fascism will continue to haunt the house of Italian democracy, disrespecting all those people who have sacrificed their lives for our freedom.

For this reason we ask the Mayor Lanfranco Principi to join without any ifs or buts to the appeal launched by his colleague Giorgio Gori, because remembrance is the first thing to do in order not to abandon the path of freedom”.
