A wonderful experience for both students and teachers of the Fermi Institute, and for the Spanish children hosted in recent days (with their teachers) by the Castellanza school as part of the European Erasmus Plus project: this is how the intense week he saw can be summarized protagonists eight Spanish students from the Centro Escolar Empordà in Roses (Girona) together with the students who attend the two-year course of the Technical Economic Institute at “Fermi”.

The objectives of the project are various and important:
– encourage socialization between young people of different nationalities, especially taking into account that we are in a post-Covid period, with a great need for young people to return to
invest in interpersonal relationships;
– let the participants know “in the field” historical facts that have affected the Italian and Spanish territories in different historical phases, analyzing and deepening similarities and differences;
– apply integrated teaching of various subjects in a foreign language, in order to stimulate pupils to have greater motivation in the use of the foreign language, strengthening their understanding and expression skills (so-called CLIL project): during the week all activities were in fact carried out in English. As part of the project, the students had the opportunity to visit the city of Legnano and its castle, the Egyptian Museum in Turin and Spanish Milan. They were also guests of the San Magno district for a nice dinner.
The great harmony created between the students and teachers has allowed us to lay the foundations for further projects: in the next school year the students of “Fermi” will return the visit to the Spanish students and a joint visit by Italian and Spanish children to a school in another European country is also being studied.
