L’AQUILA – The overall financial allocation for the Abruzzo Region, based on the 21-27 programming, is 1,257,403,210 euros. The investments envisaged by the agreement concern 190 projects relating to research, innovation, digitalisation, competitiveness and businesses, environment and natural resources, transport and mobility, urban redevelopment. Within the agreement that was approved, a sum of co-financing by the Abruzzo Region is foreseen for the ERDF and ESF community programs for an amount of approximately 98 million euros, a sum which will allow an overall impact of the community programs for a further billion and 87 million euros. “With the Cipess resolution the Cohesion Agreement becomes operational. Abruzzo will have resources available to the territory that it has never had before. If we add to the FSC resources, which include 97.9 million to be allocated to the co-financing of EU Programmes, the share of resources already made available from other financial sources, we can look to the future with the hope that important projects can begin to take shape to make making Abruzzo more competitive on a national and international level, giving strength to the economy, developing tourism both on the coast and in the internal areas, creating the infrastructures necessary also to stimulate the repopulation of the areas which today are experiencing strong depopulation, thus healing ancient territorial imbalances”.
