CIVITAVECCHIA – “It seems incredible and yet, months after the publication of the provision with which President Musolino effectively renewed the PAS convention, we are still forced to report an unexpected and unjustifiable impasse.

As reported several times by our trade union organization, the administrative process relating to the renewal of this agreement cannot be considered concluded without the definitive approval of some AdSP officials who, however, after having meticulously requested and immediately after received from PAS some changes to the Annual Operational Plan, now seem to have suddenly disappeared from the radar.
What has been created in recent days is therefore a real situation of administrative stalemate which, as the days pass, could not only prolong the state of anxiety and uncertainty experienced for months by PAS employees, but even compromise the organizational and operational efficiency of subsidiary security services in the port of Civitavecchia.

This inexplicable and suspicious failure to renew the agreement risks slowing down or even blocking simple and ordinary administrative procedures which, however, are fundamental for the correct and effective management of security services in port. In fact, we fear that in this anomalous situation the procedures for modernizing the PAS equipment, adequately training and updating the staff and better planning the inclusion of new operatives into service, especially in the peak summer phases, could be compromised. All of this seems frankly intolerable to us, especially because, on the eve of another season which promises to be a record-breaking one for cruise traffic in the port of Civitavecchia and after the painstaking work carried out by President Musolino, continuing to block PAS in a sort of administrative limbo seems absurd and dangerous to us.

We therefore hope that the relevant offices will immediately follow up on the Decree of the President of the Port System Authority no. 330/2023, consolidating the company in house, allowing it to plan the company’s future to best guarantee the safety of passengers in transit, workers operating in the port and the entire Civitavecchia port. If this were not the case or if someone thinks of dragging out this story further, our trade union organization will not hesitate to implement all the necessary fighting actions to guarantee once and for all the stability and serenity that the workers of PAS and their families”
