From 27 May to 2 June, 600 young athletes and companions will arrive in Cesena. The matches will be played in the facilities of the Minipalazzetto, the Palaippo, the Comandini institute gym and the Calisese middle school
“These are sporting events that remain in the heart, capable of marking the lives of passionate young volleyball players”. Silvano Brusori, regional president of Fipav – Italian Volleyball Federation – thus presented theappointment of the national youth finals of under 14 women’s volleyball which will be held in Cesena from 27 May to 2 June.
For the first time Cesena will host the national event, which was canceled last year following the floods in mid-May. Among young players and companions, they will be 600 people who will reach Cesena to play the finals for a week – divided into teams in two qualifying groups before reaching the final stages. The sports facilities hosting the final matches are those of the Minipalazzetto (“Don Milani” primary school), the Palaippo, the gym of the Comandini institute and that of the Calisese middle school. The teams will stay in Cesenatico at the “Mirandola” holiday home. The organizational staff will be in Cesena at the Best Western hotel.
The presentation of the sporting event took place this morning in Cesena, in the main hall of the Malatestiana Library. “It is with pride that today we present what will be a week of young people and sport. It is events like these that help bring kids closer to discipline in a positive way. Carisport will only be accessible from the next sports season, but the facilities that have been chosen will be able to best respond to the dynamics of the championship”, was the underlining of the deputy mayor and councilor for sport Christian Castorri.
It will be a week of sport, young people and correct lifestyles. He specified it Gigliola Soncini, head of Legambiente Cesena in his speech presenting the project which involved 22 classes of the “Vincenzo Monti” high school in an awareness-raising process for greater awareness in the management, for example, of waste and the use of plastic. “At the end of this project – stated Soncini – the ‘Monti’ students will participate in the days of the national volleyball finals. They will support the young talents to transmit and communicate to them virtuous attitudes, in sporting activity and in everyday life”.
To support the event, La. comes into play Volley Club Cesena sports club that, thanks to its over one thousand athletes, 80 managers of 60 teams and 40 coaches “we are in the condition and mental shape to be ready and operational to give our contribution to this national sporting event – are the words of the president of the Cesena club Maurizio Morganti -. 70 percent of our athletes are girls: here they will have the opportunity to see the excellence of the sector. It will be a seal on the activity we do all year round in favor of sport and young people in particular.”
Each region will bring one team to the final championship. Some will have more than one. All expenses are borne by the Fipav Federation territorial committee.
