THE EAGLE. The railway link on the Pescara-L’Aquila line will be completed by the end of the year. This is what emerged during a meeting between Trenitalia, the Region, the Italian Railway Network and the commuters committee of the Sulmona-L’Aquila railway section.

The work, which has a cost of 12 million euros, involves the construction of a stop in Santa Rufina, about three kilometers away from the central station of Sulmona, and of a stretch of railway of about 700 meters which joins the Pescara line -Rome to Sulmona L’Aquila. Furthermore, the small station will be equipped with a 250-metre platform, two shelters, monitors and acoustic signs for public information, as well as a car park of around 2,700 square metres.
«We asked to safeguard the Sulmona-L’Aquila trains, while the L’Aquila-Pescara trains must be an addition», the committee urges, «if you leave from the Sulmona station and return to Santa Rufina, the discomfort will be inevitable”
