Bribes, the Puglia Region is a civil party in the trial of Sannicandro, former Asset director

With the establishment of a civil party in the Region Puglia and the commissioner for hydrogeological disaster began, before the preliminary hearing judge of the court of Barithe preliminary hearing against 12 people, including Elio Sannicandroformer general manager of Assets Puglia and former contracting body of the Regional Commission for hydrogeological instability, banned last November (for a year) on charges of having received bribes for 60 thousand euros from the entrepreneur from Lucera (Foggia) Antonio Di Carlo in exchange for work contracts to the Picone torrent and the Lamasinata blade, in Bari.

The hearing

Today the parties raised preliminary questions on which the judge will decide in the next hearing, scheduled for June 25th. The facts date back to the period between 2019 and 2020, when the manager held the role of implementing body of the regional commission for hydrogeological instability. During the investigation, investigators found and seized 8,500 euros in cash in Sannicandro’s house, believed to be part of that bribe.

The crimes of which the 12 suspects are charged for various reasons include corruption for an act contrary to official duties and disruption of the freedom of auctions.
