Taranto: food safety and legislative innovations, conference

Professional update day regarding legislative innovations regarding Food Safety relating to food, feed and food-producing animals for Doctors, Veterinary Doctors and Prevention Technicians belonging to the Prevention Department of the ASL of Taranto. The works were introduced by Dr. Gregorio Colacicco (General Director of ASL TA) and Dr. Michele Conversano (Director of the ASL TA Prevention Department) to indicate the attention that the Taranto healthcare management places on the topic of prevention. Subsequently Dr. Saverio Fella (Director of the SIAV “B” Service of the ASL TA Prevention Department) explained the official control procedures in reference to the reg. EU no. 625/2017. Below Dr. Alessio Coccioli (Chief Prosecutor of the Republic of Matera) spoke on the Cartabia reform in relation to the new procedure for extinguishing food crimes.

finally Dr. Alfredo Pecoraro (Director of the ASL NA Veterinary Service, who in addition to his degree in veterinary medicine has a degree in law) spoke about the innovations introduced by Legislative Decree no. 27/2021 in relation to the administrative seizure, criminal seizure and official block, of the institution of the warning, the UPG activities, the management of suspected or ascertained minor or major non-compliance. The audience greatly appreciated the topics covered which concluded in the evening with the hope, indicated by the general director, Dr. Colacicco, so that the principle of prevention prevails over that of repression as ultima ratio.
