The provincial initiatives on the occasion of Liberation Day will take place in Siculiana on April 25th.
At 10am, the Archbishop of Agrigento Alessandro Damiano will officiate a mass at the sanctuary of the Santissimo Crocifisso di Siculiana. At 11am, at the war memorial in Piazza Umberto I, the traditional military ceremony will take place in the presence of the civil, religious and military authorities of Agrigenitno, with representatives of the armed forces, the police forces and the Anpi.
The musical performances will be offered by the brass band of the sixth Bersaglieri regiment of Trapani. The readings will instead be organized by the “Garibaldi” comprehensive institute.
Finally, at 12, in the adjacent “Living Lab”, the exhibition called “The Acqui division and the massacre of Kefalonia and Corfu” will be inaugurated. Memories from the military district of Agrigento”, promoted by the prefecture of Agrigento and set up, with the contribution of the municipal administration, edited by the State archive of Agrigento.
