GENOA – The Genoa Club Alimonda, which is based in the most red and blue square in Genoa, is in turmoil. In the clubhouse at the Lino bar everything is ready for tonight’s party, from 7pmwhich will see Grifone attackers Messias and Retegui as guests of honour.
Both will be awarded with a silver plaque as “Alimondini doc”. For several weeks the club members have been working for the event, starting with Carlo Pernat, the manager known throughout the world for his role in MotoGP, but who always talks about his Genoa from Texas to Australia.
Together with many friends including Andrea Possa and Domenico Ravenna (all Primocanale commentators) brought up the club which has hundreds of members: “Here when Genoa plays in front of the screen it feels like we are in the North – says Pernat proudly – and we are growing”. Meanwhile, while waiting to understand Gilardino’s future, a meeting between the club and the coach is imminent on the agenda, the team is working for next Monday’s match with Cagliari. The objective was to return to success at the Ferraris who were missing from the match against Udinese. It was February 24th with Retegui’s last goal, which, at home, was followed by a draw and two defeats.
