Now the Bolognese Mickey Mouse will have to spend 4 years, 8 months and 26 days in prison for a series of crimes committed from 2016 to today, presumably also with the complicity of his Minnie Mouse. Under the mask of one of the most beloved children’s characters there is a 29 year old man, of Romanian origin, who for at least the last 8 years has lived by his wits and more. According to investigators, he was involved in thefts, robberies and even a family fight. For years he performed as a mime on the streets of Bologna asking for alms with his face covered in white paint. Then he began to carry out the first thefts, in shops and supermarkets in the city centre, until the turning point: the purchase of a Mickey Mouse mask. And Minnie’s for her partner, suspected of being her accomplice. In 2019 the conviction for robbery, aggravated by the disguise chosen by the couple. The two approached the children with the features of Disney characters and playful ways, offering balloons. And then they rummaged through their parents’ pockets to rob them, and if they risked being left empty-handed they went so far as to rob passers-by. The young man had ended up in prison for this entire series of crimes but the judge had decided to release him with a suspended sentence considering his young age and the type of crimes committed. But this did not make the Mickey Mouse of the Two Towers give up, who did not change his lifestyle in Piazza Maggiore.
